Like football, strikers are mostly praised when goals are scored forgetting the effort of midfielders and defenders who mostly do the greatest part of the job.
This scenario has been the story of well gifted Margaret Gbindey a backing vocalist who has been the voice behind a lot of Ghanaian hit songs we have been enjoying for over two decades now.
Margaret in an interview with Arnold Mensah Elavanyor on Afro Samba hosted on Zylofon fm made revelations and a call on Ghanaian award schemes to pay critical attention towards backing vocalists as their contribution to music is highly important.
“We have contributed a lot towards the development of Ghana music but always our efforts go unrecognised ” She lamented.
Margaret also revealed they have formed an association which will seek the welfare of backing vocalists and will be officially launched soon.
