Creativity is worthy in only civilized societies – Rex Omar

Ghamro Chairman and renowned Highlife legend Rex Omar has made a profound statement in relation to the Ghanaian creative arts industry.

On the Showbiz Show hosted by Kojo Preko Dankwa, the “Abiba” hitmaker revealed Creative artists are the eye of every economy, using the west as example he emphasised how the system revere and support creative artiste in making their livelihood better.

Conversely in Ghana, we refer to comedians as fools, musicians who sings to entertain and address pertinent societal issues as ordinary bands men.

“Any country that do not respect creatives is not a civilized one” Rex Staed.

Creative artiste are not valued in this country hence has made us poor compared to creatives in other countries.

The system over exploit us, make us famous in the eyes of the public but financially we end up having nothing to show, he ended.
