The has been halted since 14 March due to the coronavirus outbreak with the total number of COVID-19 cases reaching more than 63,000 cases.

Sports Minister, Ashraf Sobhi, had announced that the Egyptian Premier League would start July 25th with teams already resuming training.

The EFA released a statement on Sunday, announcing that they held a meeting with Egypt head coach, Hossam El-Badry, and U-23 manager, Shawky Gharib, to decide the fate of the Egyptian Premier League.
