George Afriyie: Covid 19 pandemic offers good chance to make things better


President and Bankroll Of Division one side Planners Athletic Club George  Kwesi Afriyie says the novel pandemic has offered a great opportunity to the football people to correct their wrongs.

According to him, a lot of things went wrong during the normalization period and   Is now time to do thing better.

“Covid 19 pandemic offers us a good chance to make things better. Prior to the election, there were a lot of things that went wrong under the Normalisation Committee’s in the new statues which have to be corrected”.

“We have fine opportunity now for us to redo what we can to develop our football. We spend about almost Gh¢4,000 to Gh¢5,000 on a match day without getting any revenue. We get Zero revenue because there are no gate proceeds” he told Happy Fm.

The Former GFA Veep also added that, truncating the current league is a decision for congress to consider.

“Most of our pitches that we play on don’t even meet the club licensing requirements. The matter of truncating the 2019/2020 season is a matter for Congress. If we don’t have lives, there will be no football so let’s adhere to the medical advice”.

The seasoned Administrator contested and lost the 2019 GFA Presidential election to Kurt Okraku.
