On the popular EKOSISEN radio show on Asempa FM, the Minister of gender, Hon Cynthia Morrison, said, she and her government are not against the other individuals who have devoted out their time, money and also risking their health to go out and help the needy in terms of food, but rather seeking to ask for the right procedures and protocols to be observed.
Earlier yesterday, it emerged that, due to the lockdown, people have been restricted to by their usual way of making a living, in view of this, many individuals, companies, and other institutions have come out to help the poor who are affected much under the lockdown with food, water, and sanitizers. It even extended to the entertainment industry which saw Sarkodie, Stonebwoy, Shatta Wale all coming out to the limelight to donate, not forgetting the movie industry personality like John Dumelo.
The host of the program, Mr. Osei Bonsu, in the interview, said the former president was distribution food items to 20,000 households and to her reply of that, she seems to have no idea of what is going on when she then asked the host where those foods are shared
She added, even if its so, the former president can decide to share food for everyone in the country, they have no problem with it since it will help the government.
The former President John Dramani Mahama has shown and proved to Ghanaians his kindness toward humanity especially the poor by doing several donations gearing different aspects.
In the view of the minister, she wants the former president to seek permission from her ministry before distributing the food so that the government won’t also send food to the same community or area he went to avoid people getting double.
