KNUST final year student murders friend over GHS 1,200.00

Reports making the waves indicate a final year student of the University of Science and Technology, Emmanuel Awuah, has murdered an uber driver. According to the report, the deceased, Thomas Kwame Danso, who is a friend to Emmanuel Awuah, owed the accused a sum of GHS 1,200.00. Emmanuel, who is a Geological Engineering student at KNUST, upon several attempts to retrieve his money from Thomas, decided to murder him.

Reports indicate that Emmanuel, together with a friend, hired the uber services of Thomas from Mamponteng in the Kwabre East District and directed him to drive them to Nyinahini. While driving the two to their destination, they tied a robe around the neck of Thomas upon reaching a forest, killing him in the process and dumping his body into the forest.

The owner of the vehicle made a report to the Pankrono police station of his missing vehicle. The Police, upon their investigation and intelligence, arrested Emmanuel to assist them in finding his missing friend. Through their interrogation, Emmanuel led the Police to the location where he dumped the body of Thomas. The Police has retrieved and deposited the body at the Okomfo Anokye Hospital.

Narrating what led to the gruesome murder of his friend, Emmanuel indicated that Thomas owed him an amount of GHS 1,200.00. All efforts to retrieve his money proved futile. He, therefore, thought of it that the best way to retrieve his money is to murder his friend, sell the car, take his part of the money from the proceeds and refund the balance to the car owner.
