His Excellency the president of Ghana Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo-Addo has endorsed the ongoing voluntary campaign dubbed Watch Your Tongue Tongue founded by hardworking policeman Daniel Ofori-Appiah popularly known as Officer KOA.
In his speech at the Eid Adha celebration at the national mosque, the president urged all Ghanaians to help maintain the peace of the nation by ensuring the use of positive words,
“The government I lead is a firm supporter of free speech, and pre-evidenced by the atmosphere of free speech prevailing in the country, however we must all bear in mind the words we use, the bible tells us that death and life are in the power of the tongue, all the talk and the muttering of words by some irresponsible journalists , amplified by the power of radio ignited the tragic genocide in Rwanda, we should not allow the actions and utterances of few misguided persons to jeopardize and destroy the united Ghana the country posses which is the envy of many in the continent and the world”
The president gave this speech during the Eid Adha celebration held yesterday at the national mosque located at Kanda.
The Watch Your Tongue foundation is a non-governmental , non-political and non-religious entity that preaches about the use of positive words, with the motto “Pleasant Words-Safe World” they believe strongly the use of positive words can go a long way to ensure peace and sustainable development.
